My name is :)...
My name is NgocVan Phuoc Bui, but please call me "Van". Currently, I am completing my Bachelor’s degree of Computer Science with a minor in Information System Technology and a second minor in Mathematics by December of this year. Even though graduation is so close, there’s still so much more to accomplish. One of the main reasons why I’m taking this course online is due to the fact that I will be travelling to many places throughout the summer. The ability to do my studies on my own time is very beneficial and convenient for me. However, I know it will require a lot of persistence and rigor to plan and commit to the work without the aid and strict guidance of a professor. Regardless, I believe this will be good experience in that it will help me become more independent. One of the biggest things that I have learned in college is not the mathematics, science, or philosophical ideas, but rather the ability to learn on my own and independently pursue, plan, manage, research, and solve problems. The professor always provides good guidance, but being able to look for sources of information to “get the job done” is such an important skill. Thus, this online course is ideal for me in that it will allow me to practice these skills, in addition to fulfilling my core requirements and lessening my work load for the fall semester.
Thus far, I have not been exposed to many of the English literature. Therefore, this course will be very challenging for me because there will be a lot of authors and literary works that I am unfamiliar with. However, I look forward to seeing what this course has to offer and hope it will improve my knowledge.
